About the Product Engineer Role at Faire

As a Product Engineer on the Brand pillar at Faire, you will play a crucial role in making it easy for Brands to create high-quality product listings, keep them updated, and ensure they are visible to retailers. Having access to well-curated catalogs of products lets Main Street retailers compete with big-box stores, and you’ll be responsible for the first step in that journey.

This position involves planning and building features end-to-end, collaborating closely with product, design, and data teams to achieve the pillar's mission. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and marketing to contribute significantly to the success of the business or the engineering platform
• Identify and capitalize on new opportunities, overseeing complex multi-phase projects across multiple teams and platforms from concept to implementation
• Build features across multiple stacks, potentially including Backend, Frontend, and Mobile
• Optimize web applications for peak performance and scalability, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, fast, and scalable code
• Mentor fellow engineers on both technical and product judgement

Qualifications and Technology Stack

• 2+ years of experience
• Proficient in at least one of Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript.
• Comfortable in agentic coding tools
• Familiar with HTML, CSS, Typescript, and frameworks/libraries like React, Next.js, etc.
• Experience driving product improvements end to end, including deciding what problems are worth solving and how to solve them
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• A love for technology, and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems

Faire employees currently work in a hybrid model, attending the office 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of your choosing). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
