Reporting to Dr. Erica Lau, Assistant Professor, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will play a crucial role in developing and operationalising LHS governance, priority-setting, and learning-cycle processes. This includes leading and contributing to mixed-methods research and evaluation activities, such as scoping, synthesis, qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis where appropriate. The incumbent will lead and participate in key stakeholder engagement and co-design activities, including working group meetings, listening sessions, and site visits. Collaboration with CEDRN and other data/analytics teams will be essential for developing analytic plans, conducting or supporting analyses using available emergency care data, interpreting findings, and translating results into actionable insights. Furthermore, the role involves supporting the development of practical tools, dashboard concepts, implementation resources, progress summaries, and project deliverables for research, health system, and community partners. Contributions to manuscripts, conference presentations, reports, grant development, research ethics, privacy, data governance, and knowledge translation activities are also expected.
Successful applicants will possess a doctoral degree obtained within the last five years, or completed by the start of the position, in a relevant field such as implementation science, epidemiology, health services and policy research, or public health. Candidates must demonstrate strong quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research skills, alongside experience in developing analytic plans and conducting data analysis using software like R, SAS, Stata, or NVivo. Experience with collaborative, partner-engaged, community-engaged, or co-design research approaches is required. The ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholders and disciplines, including clinicians, health system partners, and community or lived/living experience groups, is essential. Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute effectively in collaborative, evolving research environments is also important. Strong communication, writing, organisational, and interpersonal skills, coupled with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple timelines, are critical. Experience or a strong interest in implementation science, applied health services research, and health system improvement is highly valued. An interest in emergency care, substance use research, or Learning Health Systems is preferred, along with a willingness to respect diverse perspectives and a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates who hold or are eligible for external postdoctoral fellowship support are welcome to apply. This is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding availability and performance. The anticipated start date is July 2026, or a mutually agreed upon date. To apply, please submit a letter of application outlining your research interests and relevant experience, a detailed curriculum vitae, one writing sample (such as a peer-reviewed publication, dissertation chapter, or report), and contact information for three referees. Review of applications will commence in June 2026 and continue until the position is filled. The posting end date is June 15, 2026.
