What You'll Do

Reporting to the Director, Facilities Operations Parks & Recreation, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for a broad portfolio of facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring facilities are safe, welcoming, accessible, and well maintained, while fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence. This management role involves leading and directing Supervisors and frontline staff, balancing competing priorities, and responding to emerging operational challenges.

  • Oversee facility operations, maintenance, and repairs through a team of Supervisors and frontline staff.
  • Manage operating budgets, procurement, and contract management activities.
  • Support capital project planning and execution for facility renewal and improvements.
  • Develop operational plans, policies, and procedures to promote effective, efficient, and compliant service delivery.
  • Provide leadership and direction in day-to-day operations, workforce planning, employee development, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead operating budget development and administration, and oversee procurement and contract activities.
  • Work closely with internal partners, community stakeholders, elected officials, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage recruitment, employee development, performance management, and labour relations activities.
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements, health and safety legislation, and organizational policies.
  • Represent the division on projects, committees, and strategic initiatives, preparing reports and recommendations for informed decision-making.
