### Your Impact and Key Responsibilities In this pivotal role, the Junior Materials Lab Technician will be instrumental in carrying out a variety of laboratory tests according to established industry standards. This includes meticulous testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, and other construction materials as required, ensuring every result is precise and reliable. A key responsibility involves participating in relevant CCIL certifications as needed, guaranteeing prompt and accurate testing and reporting of results that meet stringent quality controls. The successful candidate will also be tasked with completing accurate and concise data gathering for diverse test methods, preparing this information efficiently for data entry to produce comprehensive and accurate final reports. Furthermore, this role supports essential equipment calibration, routine maintenance, and general housekeeping requirements, all vital for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment within the laboratory. Active participation in the laboratory quality control program, assisting with internal and external audits, and supporting the identification and investigation of non-conformances are also crucial aspects of this position at WSP. Successful completion of post-secondary technical education in Civil Engineering/Technology or a related discipline is essential. A sound knowledge of relevant standardized lab testing procedures, including ASTM, AASHTO, and CSA, is critical for ensuring accurate and compliant work.
