job description
About the role
The Marketing Department's vision is to create world-class, compelling communications that inspire support for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and help enable breakthroughs and innovations at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. As the Junior Coordinator, Mass Marketing, you will provide shared support across the Foundation's Events and Brand portfolios. You will help coordinate broad-audience marketing campaigns that build awareness of The Princess Margaret brand, drive participation in some of Canada's largest peer-to-peer fundraising events, and support donor and fundraising growth. Working with internal teams, agencies, and vendors, you will keep campaign deliverables organized, accurate, and on track while building hands-on experience across paid media, creative development, brand stewardship, project management, and campaign reporting.
Key duties
- Support the development and execution of mass marketing plans and campaigns for The Princess Margaret brand and a portfolio of signature, community, and third-party fundraising events.
- Draft and create marketing briefs, work orders, meeting materials and presentations under the direction of the Events and Brand portfolio leads.
- Coordinate day-to-day creative development, including gathering requirements, consolidating feedback, sharing marketing materials with the appropriate team members, and helping track their status.
- Keep campaign files and asset trackers organized, and help ensure the correct, approved materials are shared in the required formats.
- Support media and campaign launch readiness by coordinating creative specifications, trafficking deadlines, tracking requirements and approvals with internal teams and agency partners.
- Assist with assigned event and brand projects, including photography, videography, event videos, signage, merchandise, and other production requirements.
- Help coordinate vendor and agency deliverables, estimates, timelines and production details, escalating risks or delays to the appropriate portfolio lead.
- Conduct audience, market and competitive research to inform campaign planning, creative development, event positioning and post-campaign recommendations.
- Assist with documenting campaign learnings related to audiences, channels, creative, messaging, timing and execution, and help maintain a record of recommendations for future campaigns.
- Support consistent application of The Princess Margaret and event brands by reviewing materials for required brand elements and flagging inconsistencies.
- Coordinate with internal partners, including Direct & Digital, Creative, Business Intelligence, Public Relations, Organic Social, Sponsorship and event teams, to gather information and keep shared deliverables moving.
- Maintain organized campaign documentation, including briefs, plans, estimates, approvals, meeting notes, final assets, and post-campaign reports.
- Support budget administration by updating trackers, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate records of planned, committed, and actual spending.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, document action items, and follow up with internal and external partners as required.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve campaign coordination, templates, asset management and team processes.
- Attend and provide marketing support at Foundation events, which may require occasional evenings, weekends and local travel.
- Provide other marketing and administrative support as required to help the Mass Marketing team deliver its priorities.
Qualifications
- Completion of, or enrollment in, a post-secondary (diploma or degree) program in marketing or communications (or transferable skills gained through non-traditional career paths, freelance work, or community initiatives), with at least one year of hands-on experience in marketing, communications, or a related area.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, complete, and well-organized work.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with tools such as Canva, CRM platforms, project management tools and CMS platforms is an asset.
- Comfort working collaboratively with multiple internal teams and external partners while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Experience with marketing project management, creative development, paid media, reporting, analytics platforms, or digital asset management is an asset.
- A proactive, engaged self-starter who is eager to learn, contribute ideas, improve processes, and ask thoughtful questions.
- Demonstrated alignment with the values of Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence and commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Anti-Racism (IDEAA).
