In this role, you will assist in deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP to meet business needs. You will configure and support cloud resources, including compute, storage, and networking, following established designs and best practices. Performing routine environment maintenance tasks like system updates and patching will be part of your duties to keep cloud systems current, secure, and performing optimally. You will monitor cloud systems using standard tools and alerts to ensure uptime, performance, and capacity. Responding to incidents and support requests, troubleshooting straightforward infrastructure issues, and resolving or escalating them to senior engineers when necessary are key responsibilities. You will also participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation with senior team support to provide after-hours incident response, following defined runbooks to restore services and minimise downtime. Furthermore, you will contribute to automation efforts by writing and maintaining basic scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Bash, and assist in managing CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments. Utilising infrastructure-as-code tools and template libraries under supervision to provision cloud resources in a repeatable manner will be expected. Working closely with DevOps and development teams to ensure smooth build and deployment pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and implementing minor enhancements to improve consistency and reduce manual work is also required. Finally, you will engage in ongoing learning and professional development to expand cloud engineering skills, proactively seeking deeper expertise in core cloud platforms and tools, and staying abreast of emerging best practices.
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. You should have approximately two to four years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering/support roles, with prior exposure to production cloud environments and operational support processes. A working knowledge of at least one major public cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, is essential. Familiarity with fundamental cloud services like compute, storage, networking, and databases, along with basic cloud architecture concepts, is required. An understanding of customary cloud security and backup practices, coupled with an openness to learning multiple cloud environments and new services, is important. Some experience with scripting and automation, for example, writing simple scripts in Python, PowerShell, or Bash, is needed to assist with repetitive tasks or deployments. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control, such as Jenkins, Git, or Azure DevOps, for software build or deployment processes is also valued. A basic understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts, like CloudFormation or Terraform, and a desire to develop deeper expertise in automating cloud infrastructure management is beneficial. Experience with system monitoring and support in a cloud or IT infrastructure context, with basic skills in using monitoring and alerting tools and interpreting system logs or metrics to detect and diagnose issues, is necessary. You must be able to follow standard operating procedures and runbooks to troubleshoot incidents methodically, demonstrating problem-solving ability for common technical issues, and knowing when to escalate complex problems. Comfort working in a rotational on-call support environment, maintaining composure and attention to detail during incident response, is key. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to document activities clearly and collaborate effectively with a diverse technical team. We value team-oriented and coachable individuals, receptive to feedback and guidance from more experienced colleagues, with a customer-service mindset. Flexibility and adaptability to changing tools and processes, willingness to embrace emerging solutions, and proactivity in seeking out training, mentorship, and challenging assignments are highly regarded. Exposure to Google Cloud Platform services or multi-cloud deployments, familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Oracle Fusion Cloud applications, experience supporting or integrating with eCommerce platforms, working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, and experience using modern monitoring and observability tools like Dynatrace or Datadog are considered assets.
