This is a full-time position within Technology Solutions, requiring 37.5 hours per week, based in Toronto, Ontario. The Global FX E-Trading Support Group is responsible for providing global support to TD Securities' FX eTrading and Front Office businesses. These operations are located in major financial centres including Canada, New York (US), London, Dublin, and Singapore.
As an IT Support Analyst, you will interact with all users of eFX electronic applications, including Front Office, Finance & Operations, Back Office, Treasury Credit, and Risk Management. The role involves developing and implementing lasting, robust technology solutions, as well as supporting existing applications and their surrounding frameworks.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering solutions to the firm's FX eTrading and Sales desks in North America. You will join an experienced team that manages applications offering pricing, risk, electronic and algorithmic trading, and trade capture functionalities to the business.
The position initially involves first and second-line application support responsibilities, providing engagement with a broad range of stakeholders. These include Front & Middle Office, Product Control, Risk Management, Back Office, Application Development, and Infrastructure teams.
You will develop ad-hoc reporting tools for all business groups. Periodic on-call support and shift work are also required for this position. While training will be provided, a hands-on attitude and proactive approach to enhancing knowledge are expected.
What You'll Bring
Candidates should have two or more years of experience supporting front-to-back trading systems and trading desks. This includes knowledge of Foreign Exchange (eFX) Electronic Trading and low-latency systems, covering dealer-to-dealer (D2D) and dealer-to-client (D2C) workflows. Exposure and awareness of eFX venues such as Bloomberg, FXAll, 360T, and FXConnect are beneficial.
Experience supporting exchange connectivity, including MarketView and ION MMI, is required, with ION Anvil being a plus. A strong understanding of financial markets and products, particularly eFX Risk management, Hedging, and VAR methodologies, is essential. You should also understand electronic trading, markets, connectivity, market making, and algorithmic or automatic trading.
Working experience with technologies such as Linux RH, Windows Server, Oracle, SQL, Python, and FIX Protocol is expected. Familiarity with infrastructure and server components is also important, as is experience with front office-facing support. Understanding middle office and Back Office (BoR) systems, along with end-to-end pre-trade and post-trade workflow, is considered an asset.
Key skills include computer proficiency, scripting, SQL, and/or experience in programming languages. Knowledge of IT project and development lifecycles (SDLC), agile methodology, and ITIL is also required, alongside strong communication abilities.
