The Employee Communications team, a vital part of Canadian Tire Corporation’s (CTC) broader Communications group, is at the heart of the organisation. This Advisor position reports directly to the Manager of Employee Communications. The role involves supporting the team’s Advisors and Senior Advisors, as well as client groups, in creating, delivering, and measuring communications campaigns that propel the business forward. The Employee Communications Advisor will contribute by developing fresh written and visual content that engages CTC’s employee audience in meaningful ways, helping to ensure employees have access to accurate, up-to-date, and easy-to-understand information efficiently and timely.
Key Responsibilities
The Advisor will create compelling written and visual content for distribution across multiple employee communication channels, ensuring alignment with CTC’s voice, strategic priorities, and visual identity. This role involves working closely with the team to support and execute various communications programmes, meticulously maintaining content quality, adherence to standards, and meeting deadlines.
Collaboration with the broader Employee Communications, Communications, and cross-functional teams across the enterprise is crucial to balance, integrate, and prioritise communications effectively. The Advisor will actively participate in creative idea generation to consistently elevate the work and reputation of the Employee Communications team. Additionally, responsibilities include providing sound advice to clients on communications best practices and managing ongoing reporting and analytics of campaigns and activities to measure effectiveness and inform future approaches to employee communications.

Requirements include post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, or another relevant degree or diploma. At least two years of progressive communications experience in a dedicated communications role, ideally within a retail or brand-driven organisation, is essential. Impeccable written communication skills and strong visual communication skills, ideally with experience creating infographics or animations, are also required. Superior organisation, time management, prioritisation, and proactive problem-solving abilities are crucial.
A proven track record for operating collaboratively and delivering measurable outcomes in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, brand-centric environment is expected. Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Viva Engage (or a similar enterprise social media platform), and design programmes such as Canva and Photoshop are considered assets.
The typical hiring range for this position is between $23.00 and $37.00 CAD Hourly. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity, and other role-specific requirements.
