This vital role at Cineplex in Calgary focuses on ensuring all gaming equipment operates flawlessly, providing an exceptional experience for guests. The Amusement Technician is accountable for the safe installation, testing, inspection, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs of gaming equipment. While gaming systems are the primary focus, you may also be asked to maintain or repair other equipment within the building as required. You will perform necessary maintenance changes on gaming systems, providing occasional guidance and training to others. A key aspect of the role involves executing the preventative maintenance program for gaming machines, conducting diagnostics, and completing all required repairs to equipment. This includes removing and replacing worn components and reactivating gaming systems. You will also perform assigned equipment inspections, reporting on conditions impacting customer satisfaction and operations. All preventative and corrective maintenance must be performed in full compliance with applicable programs, best industry practices, and manufacturer's recommended practices. Maintaining compliance with Federal, Provincial, Municipal, Ordinances, Codes, or Laws is also a crucial part of this position. Adherence to all health and safety requirements by the organisation is paramount, including recognising danger and safety hazards and proposing methods to eliminate them.
To succeed in this Hourly Electronics Technician role, a minimum college diploma in Electronics or a similar field is required, coupled with 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Specific experience with gaming equipment repairs and diagnosing issues using preventative measures is essential. Candidates must possess thorough knowledge of gaming equipment principles and operation. Strong problem-solving skills, a highly motivated and organised approach, and a positive, professional, and adaptable demeanour are all highly valued. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent time management skills. The role may occasionally require work outside of regular operating hours to support installations, deliveries, removal, or repair of games. Physically, the job demands the ability to work with tools, pipes, and materials, including lifting and manipulating objects of up to 80 lbs for 50 feet. The use of Personal Protection Equipment, such as a hard-hat and safety boots, will be required, and you will need to carry a small inventory of personal tools. Manual dexterity for using desktop computers and peripherals is also necessary, along with the ability to stand for extended periods.
