Driving Asset Protection and Operational Excellence
As an Asset Protection Specialist, you will primarily drive the execution of Home Depot's comprehensive internal and external theft and fraud strategy within your assigned store. Your responsibilities include proactively minimizing loss to the Company by utilizing various tools and techniques, including surveillance and detailed reporting. You will effectively support the safety and environmental program compliance, ensuring our Regina Home Depot store adheres to all company standards and local regulations. Building strong relationships with store management and all associates is key, fostering a 'Shrink Elimination' culture that benefits everyone. This role requires you to effectively communicate with Asset Protection Specialist Supervisors and Market Asset Protection Managers regarding investigations and physical security, ensuring a coordinated approach to asset protection within the Home Depot network. You will also participate in the In Focus program to further enhance security measures.
Key Responsibilities and Professional Development
This role involves critical hands-on duties such as detaining and interviewing individuals apprehended for shoplifting, strictly adhering to local laws and company procedures. You will be responsible for meticulously writing reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, and collaborating with law enforcement, representing Home Depot professionally in all court-related procedures. A core part of your contribution will be to effectively create awareness among associates regarding shrink issues, encompassing internal and external theft, operational deficiencies, and physical security. You will also build your skills and knowledge by meeting all Home Depot and Asset Protection training requirements, utilizing CCTV and exception reports, and auditing Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems to maintain the highest level of protection within the store environment. Your ability to make sound judgments and demonstrate a clear bias for action will effectively contribute to the overall security and operational integrity of the store, ensuring all associates are supported and safe.
