As a Gas Bar Clerk Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe, efficient operation that adheres to company policies and standards. This role also involves assisting with regular clean-up duties to maintain a clean and organised gas bar environment, reporting directly to the Gas Bar Supervisor or Manager.

Key Responsibilities
The Gas Bar Clerk Cashier provides excellent customer service, maintaining positive customer relations by handling inquiries, comments, requests, and complaints professionally. This role involves working proficiently and friendly within a diverse team environment.
Key duties include accurately dispensing fuel into vehicles according to company standards and filling propane into vehicles or bottles following CF03 propane training. You will also manage stocking and display functions efficiently, ensuring proper presentation and stock levels in the convenience store, which may involve unloading supplies from vehicles.
Responsibilities extend to merchandise handling, ensuring quality, minimising damages, and maintaining price integrity through accurate price changes. General clean-up duties are essential, including cleaning spills, fixtures, equipment both inside the convenience store and at pump islands, and washrooms to maintain a neat and organised department. You will also keep sales floors, back stock areas, and pump islands free of debris and dispose of garbage.
Adherence to Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations is crucial to ensure the well-being of staff and customers, including safe handling of hazardous materials. You will ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment, reporting any repair needs to management. Additionally, the role involves assisting with ordering merchandise, receiving procedures, including verifying invoices and proper product storage, and participating in sundry and tobacco inventory takes. Adherence to all Tobacco and Lottery policies and regulations, maintaining cigarette and stock levels, and office filing are also part of the duties.
What You'll Bring
Candidates should possess a Grade 9 education or an acceptable combination of education and experience. You must be at least 16 years of age and fluent in English, demonstrated by a Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment score of 5 or higher.
Essential qualifications include related retail experience. Previous retail cashier experience and specific gas bar experience are considered desirable assets that will set you apart. Successful candidates will be required to complete and maintain a Gas Bar cashier-training programme within their probation period.
