About the Opportunity

The University of British Columbia (UBC) Career Centre in Vancouver, BC, is seeking an Employer & Alumni Engagement Specialist. This is a temporary leave replacement position, with an anticipated end date of June 10, 2027. The Employer & Alumni Engagement Specialist is responsible for researching, initiating, developing, and managing employer and alumni relationships to enhance career development and employer engagement for UBC Vancouver students. This role involves working collaboratively with colleagues within the Career Centre and Alumni UBC to build effective and sustainable employer relationships, positioning alumni as employers, and fostering deeper connections with the university and its students. The specialist strategically manages the delivery of services and support to employers recruiting UBC students and alumni, aiming to create effective student-employer and student-alumni experiences. Additionally, the specialist consults with the community on employment needs and international on-campus recruitment programs, coordinating innovative events such as fairs, expos, mentorship programs, and panel discussions to expand professional networks. This role leverages significant industry knowledge and professional networks to cultivate diverse employer and alumni networks, facilitating meaningful connections for students to the world of work. The Career Centre serves as a central hub for all graduate and undergraduate students and employers on the UBC Vancouver campus, offering access to workplace learning, mentoring, volunteer, and leadership opportunities, alongside career and employment-related services. This position reports to the Manager, Employer and Alumni Engagement, and involves collaboration with various campus partners. The compensation range for this role is $6,747.50 - $9,701.42 CAD monthly.
