This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to complex building projects across the province, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical construction. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will support initiatives that truly shape communities and advance sustainable infrastructure. This position is essential for the successful delivery of critical electrical components within our diverse portfolio.
As an Electrical Contract Administrator, your impact will be significant. You will be responsible for administering electrical construction contracts, meticulously adhering to the BC Electrical Code, project specifications, and all relevant contract documents. Key responsibilities include reviewing and processing essential project documentation such as shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and progress claims specifically related to electrical systems. You will conduct thorough site reviews to verify that electrical installations align precisely with design intent, the BC Electrical Code requirements, and stringent safety standards. Coordination with electrical engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies like Technical Safety BC will be crucial for resolving technical and code-related issues efficiently. Furthermore, you will support inspection readiness, track construction progress, document deficiencies, and champion overall safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the entire construction phase, contributing directly to cost control and schedule adherence.
The ideal candidate for this electrical contract role will possess a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Construction Management, coupled with intermediate experience in electrical contract administration on building projects within British Columbia. Familiarity with the BC Electrical Code, applicable CSA standards, and Technical Safety BC processes is essential.
