As a pivotal Demand Planner at Arc'teryx, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our product offerings by owning the demand forecast for your assigned categories. This role, based in our North Vancouver corporate office with hybrid remote options, offers a unique opportunity to turn complex data, market signals, and cross-functional insights into actionable forecasts. The Demand Planning team plays a crucial role in connecting business strategy with the realities of customer demand, translating diverse inputs into a clear, forward-looking demand forecast that guides decision-making across the entire Arc'teryx organization. In this role, you will maintain a rolling 12-18 month demand forecast for your categories, meticulously aligning inputs from various cross-functional partners with established planning guidelines. A core aspect of your contribution will be driving forecast accuracy by continuously monitoring performance, diagnosing errors, and proactively implementing improvement opportunities. You will build baseline statistical forecasts using proven methodologies, then refining them with your astute business judgment. Leading the demand plan through the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle to achieve a consensus forecast is critical. Furthermore, you will reconcile top-down financial targets with bottom-up SKU forecasts, identifying gaps and driving their resolution. Your insights will be vital in translating demand information into clear guidance for the Supply Planning team, influencing crucial capacity and build decisions. You will also contribute to shaping how the team plans through regular process-development meetings, model demand for new product launches, and lead corrective actions based on in-season performance monitoring. Identifying potential risks and constraints, running scenario analyses, and escalating issues early will be part of your proactive approach, ensuring the right product strategy is always in place.
To excel as a Demand Planner, you will bring 3-5 years of relevant experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, forecasting, or a related supply chain role. Strong demand forecasting experience, particularly within a retail or wholesale environment, is essential. Your background should include statistical forecasting paired with a robust data analysis skillset, demonstrating advanced proficiency in data manipulation and Excel. Experience working with retail Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and hands-on experience with advanced planning software such as o9 Solutions, Blue Yonder, Anaplan, or Oracle is highly valued. We are looking for an individual with strong analytical skills to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues, even in scenarios marked by uncertainty and ambiguity. Excellent time management skills are crucial for thriving under deadlines and pressure, allowing you to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills are also key, as this is a people-facing role that requires effective collaboration with teams like Merchandising, Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Allocations, FP&A, and eCommerce to align on execution and ensure the right outcomes.
