In this hands-on role, reporting directly to the Store Manager, you will be at the heart of our operations, serving customers efficiently and courteously using our cash register system, always striving for a positive and memorable customer experience. Beyond the till, your responsibilities will extend to actively participating in our Spirit of Sustainability Campaign by asking for charitable donations, and gathering valuable insights through customer experience and postal code surveys. A significant part of your day will involve receiving and replenishing products on the shelves, ensuring our store remains well-stocked and visually appealing. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for all customers and colleagues is also paramount, which includes promptly addressing spills and broken bottles. This role requires the ability to lift cases of various sizes and weights, up to 40 lbs (18 kg), repeatedly while standing for extended periods, contributing to the smooth operation of our busy LCBO store.
To excel in this role, candidates must be comfortable interacting with both teammates and customers, embodying the friendly and helpful spirit that defines the LCBO. Crucially, specific availability is required for this fixed-term summer role, covering May 4, 2026, to September 7, 2026. You must be available to work Friday evenings (5:00 PM – Close) and be fully available all day for 4 to 8-hour shifts on both Saturday and Sunday every weekend. Availability is also mandatory for long weekend periods, including Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, and Labour Day weekends. While additional work may be available during the week (Monday – Thursday) based on store needs, the core weekend commitment is essential. Schedules are posted two weeks in advance, and extra shifts may arise on short notice. Applicants must be legally permitted to work in Canada, be at least 18 years old, and agree to complete a Criminal Background Check at their own expense prior to starting. Bilingualism in English and French is considered a valuable bonus, enhancing the customer experience for a broader range of patrons.
