The Completions Engineer will be responsible for planning and programming completions operations, ensuring they are conducted safely, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. This includes preparing accurate programs, detailed cost estimates, and reviewing well files to generate comprehensive drilling, completion, and well servicing history. A key aspect of this role involves conducting detailed area reviews, analyzing offset data, and evaluating new technologies to develop optimized completions techniques and frac designs. You will present peer reviews on area development and well designs, working in conjunction with asset teams to effectively design, plan, and budget projects. Furthermore, you will provide essential support during completions operations, assisting the Operations Superintendent with daily operations, planning, and vendor performance analysis. Completing project reviews and lookbacks is crucial to evaluate project effectiveness, ensuring continuous optimization of current and future projects, contributing to the responsible management of our natural resources.
To excel in this Completions Engineer role, candidates should bring 2-10+ years of experience with completions and/or well servicing activities. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a fundamental requirement, along with registration or eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA). Experience with horizontal multi-stage fracturing drilling and completions operations is essential. Strong project management, communication, organization, and time management skills are also critical for success.
