About the Role

The Data and Analytics Technology team, in partnership with Customer Insights Data and Analytics teams and IT partners, plays a crucial role in supporting the bank's extensive data and analytics needs through tooling, projects, and IT operational support. This Cloud Engineer position is central to that mission, focusing on the infrastructure that powers critical bank-wide initiatives.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of infrastructure, including designing, developing, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Your work will directly impact bank-wide initiatives supported by Data and Analytics Technology, encompassing infrastructure building, integration, process automation, and the delivery of new projects. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in cloud technologies to complex, large-scale data environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Google Cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Implement Google best practices to secure managed services for Data and Analytics workloads, including GCS, BigQuery, Vertex AI notebooks, Cloud Composer, Dataproc, and other key GCP services.
- Develop and maintain automation pipelines for the secure building and deployment of applications and GCP infrastructure.
- Create monitoring dashboards and alerts to facilitate comprehensive operational oversight of the entire platform.
- Collaborate with various enterprise security and business applications teams to define and implement robust cloud architecture and best practices on GCP.
- Stay up to date on GCP best practices and recommend improvements to the existing platform to streamline development or address new security concerns.
- Participate in on-call rotation for resolving critical incidents related to GCP infrastructure or deployed applications.
- Design, test, and implement new technologies and applications, such as Databricks, to enhance our data analytics capabilities.
Qualifications
To succeed in this Cloud Engineer role, candidates should possess a strong technical background and practical experience in cloud environments, particularly with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We value a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning.
- 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- 3+ years of experience in using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling, such as Terraform.
- 3+ years of experience with container-based technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- 3+ years of experience in the use of CI/CD Tools.
- 1+ year of experience in Dataproc implementation.
- Understanding of different database technologies (e.g., CloudSQL, NoSQL, Relational databases).
- 3+ years of experience with configuration management tools and scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Groovy).
- A university degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Management, or a relevant field.
- Google Cloud associate certification is preferred.
