Scotiabank is seeking an Associate Director for Liquidity Regulatory Reporting in Toronto, Ontario. This critical 14-month contract position is within Group Liquidity & Global Cash Management, a team vital to safeguarding the Bank’s overall liquidity and funding profile. The successful candidate will ensure the Bank consistently meets complex regulatory, financial, and management reporting requirements with precision, discipline, and robust governance. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of high-impact regulatory reporting processes, collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across Global Risk Management, Finance, and various business lines. As an Associate Director, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end delivery of essential liquidity and funding regulatory reporting, encompassing critical metrics such as LCR, NCCF, NSFR, and the Supplemental Liquidity Template. This involves everything from meticulous data sourcing and stringent controls to final production and submission. You will act as a trusted advisor, collaborating extensively with Global Risk Management on governance and methodologies, Global Risk Technology for system enhancements, and Internal Audit for issue remediation. Furthermore, you will advise business lines on balance sheet optimization within the Bank's liquidity risk appetite and work with Finance on financial disclosures and regulatory reconciliations. A key aspect of this role involves continuously monitoring and interpreting new regulatory developments, leading their implementation to ensure Scotiabank's ongoing compliance. While exposed to all liquidity metrics, a primary focus will be on the daily and month-end LCR production, ensuring its robustness, accuracy, and timeliness. This role also involves preparing ad-hoc analysis, deep dives, and executive presentations for senior leadership, contributing significantly to strategic financial management discussions. You will also lead and develop direct reports, fostering technical capability, engagement, and a strong control culture within the team, which is crucial for effective risk management.
The ideal candidate for this Associate Director role will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree or a professional designation such as CFA or CPA/Accounting is considered a significant asset, demonstrating advanced financial acumen. Candidates should bring at least seven years of progressive experience in Finance, Treasury, Liquidity Risk, or a related financial function.
