Scotiabank is seeking a dedicated Senior Manager to join its Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team, specifically supporting the Wealth Management division in Toronto, Ontario. This critical contract position reports to the Director, AML, and plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day management and supervisory oversight of Wealth Management's comprehensive AML program. The Senior Manager, AML, Business Risk Management will lead and manage the implementation of large-scale AML/ATF Enterprise projects across various wealth business units within Scotiabank. A core accountability involves providing expert AML/ATF compliance support, offering direction and guidance on appropriate reviews and actions, and identifying unacceptable AML/ATF risks for escalation. This role ensures that processes and controls are consistently updated in accordance with evolving regulatory developments, supporting enhanced due diligence and review of account activity for flagged clients. The position also involves sustaining AML processes by assisting wealth business units with the development and execution of procedures, initiatives, and best practices, ensuring strict compliance with both external regulations and internal policies. Furthermore, the Senior Manager will contribute to effective collaboration and successful execution of the AML program across various lines of defence within Scotiabank, including designing and implementing an ongoing change management program for AML across wealth and ensuring alignment with the rest of the institution. Maintaining current knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk is paramount for success in this management role.
To excel as a Senior Manager, AML, Business Risk Management at Scotiabank, candidates must possess a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation, demonstrating a solid foundation in AML principles. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is required, complemented by a minimum of five years of relevant AML/ATF or banking experience. The role demands at least eight years of previous experience in project management and/or regulatory reform initiatives, or significant work experience within a Global Wealth Management (GWM) environment. Strong knowledge of both local and international AML/ATF regulations is essential.
