About the role
What you’ll do Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Financial Planning, the Senior Analyst, Enterprise Financial Planning will support all banners at CTC and play a crucial role in creating and managing financial plans, analyzing data, and providing insights that drive strategic decision-making. Support Merchandise Financial Plan : Assisting in the creation and management of the Annual Merchandise Financial Plan (MFP) for all banners. Reconciliation : Supporting reconciliation of top-down vs bottom-up MFPs by working closely with banner planning functions. Performance Tracking : Monitoring monthly sales/margin performance against plans and forecasts; identifying trends that will inform long term financial forecasts. Data Analysis & Reporting : Conducting detailed financial analysis and reporting on key performance metrics across all banners. Category & Channel Analysis : Supporting category prioritization, channel opportunities analysis, objectives setting, and resource allocation through detailed financial modeling. What you bring The business is looking for someone who can build strong relationships and collaborate cross-functionally. In this role it is critical that you have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. You should be able to communicate recommendations clearly through multiple formats. We are looking for candidates who have a broad understanding of financial planning principles and who are comfortable dealing with ambiguity. If you have experience in financial analysis within a retail environment, this is considered ideal. You should also possess a well-developed understanding of the business levers that influence the retail P&L. The team is also looking for someone who has: Post-secondary university education, preferably in business or finance 3+ years’ experience in a financial analysis role within a retail organization with a strong understanding of retail Math Background using Excel at an intermediate or advanced level using analytics to turn data into recommendations and actionable insights. Proven track record of supporting cross-functional projects and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders. Excellent oral and written communication skills Analytical and insightful, with strong problem-solving abilities to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial data. Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy in financial analysis and reporting. Proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs and provide solutions before issues arise. Strong communicators, capable of presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner. Collaborative team players, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward. We’re always looking for great talent! Our typical hiring range is between $70,000 and $85,000 CAD. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
