As a Relationship Manager within our Business Banking team in Saskatoon, you will report to the Senior Manager & Team Lead, Business Banking, contributing to CIBC’s vision of leadership in client relationships.
Your role involves providing new and existing clients with an exceptional experience, helping them achieve immediate and long-term business goals. This is accomplished by thoroughly understanding client needs, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships, and enhancing client loyalty. You will ensure clients' financial and credit requirements are met through comprehensive business banking offers, or by facilitating introductions to appropriate Imperial Service, Personal Banking, or Private Banking colleagues.
Success in this position requires frequent collaboration with experts across CIBC to ensure clients receive the most suitable support. You will proactively manage and grow a portfolio of business-only connections, focusing on deepening these relationships and addressing clients' specific business needs.
Key Responsibilities
You will drive business development by building strong relationships with Centres of Influence within the community, generating referrals through both in-person and digital channels. This includes connecting with existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for comprehensive relationships, providing both deposit and credit solutions for future growth and revenue. You will proactively participate in community and banking centre events, such as business development initiatives, client acknowledgement programmes, and client appreciation days, to enhance CIBC’s presence and expand market share. Additionally, you will develop and manage a robust sales pipeline of diverse business banking opportunities.
Client engagement is central to this role, requiring you to proactively discuss with assigned portfolio, partner-referred, and other prospective clients to understand their immediate financial needs while also identifying opportunities to address their longer-term financial goals. You will demonstrate service excellence by actively engaging with clients and ensuring their financial needs are consistently met. This involves delivering trusted advice and financial solutions, alongside cultivating your network to establish new client relationships. You will also promote and demonstrate CIBC’s digital banking options and Cash Management products, introducing clients to alternative banking methods such as ATM, Mobile, Online, and SmartBanking for Business.
Through effective relationship management, you will support existing clients and continuously seek new opportunities for client acquisition via referrals and internal partner relationships, delivering current financial products and solutions tailored for the Business Banking market segment. You will manage and expand a portfolio of business-only connections, consistently focusing on deepening these client relationships and addressing their evolving business needs. Furthermore, you will heighten CIBC’s brand awareness in your community by attending local events and actively participating in marketing and outreach activities, growing your network to create lasting connections that will generate future small business opportunities.
What You'll Bring
You will bring demonstrated experience in Business Banking, with a minimum of two years in Business Banking or Commercial Banking. This includes a strong knowledge of credit, cash management products and services, alongside an understanding of business cash flow and financial analysis crucial for assessing and delivering on new business opportunities. An established network within the local business community is also essential for this role.
