About the Role
This is a part-time temporary Registered Nurse position based at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The expected start date is June 28, 2026, and the role is expected to conclude by December 29, 2026, with a 0.55 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). Shifts will include days, nights, and weekends, comprising seven 11.78-hour shifts per four-week rotation. The pay band for this Nurse A position ranges from $38.580 to $50.070 per hour.
What You'll Do
As a Registered Nurse, you will serve the Medical Surveillance Unit (MSU), a closed observation unit dedicated to patients who require a higher level of care than general medicine patients but do not yet need Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services. You will provide an increased level of skilled nursing care, focusing on frequent monitoring, observation, physiological monitoring, support, and treatment. Key responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and the application of telemetry to ensure comprehensive patient care.
What You'll Bring
Candidates must possess one year of experience in acute care. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is required, though a nursing diploma is also acceptable. You must hold a Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) and be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS). Essential competencies include basic critical thinking skills and a strong knowledge of the nursing process. Applicants selected for an interview will be required to bring a valid Criminal Record Check, dated within six months and including a vulnerable sector search.
