As an Oracle HCM Distribution Supervisor in Victoria, British Columbia, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our distribution centre. This position at Sleep Country Canada requires a dedicated leader who can effectively manage day-to-day supervision of all warehouse activities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide critical oversight for the entire delivery operation, ensuring that our high standards for product movement and dispatch are consistently met. This role is fundamental to our mission of helping Canadians achieve better sleep by ensuring the timely and accurate distribution of our world-class sleep products. We are seeking an individual with proven experience in a dynamic warehouse environment, ready to contribute to a leading Canadian retailer.
A key aspect of this supervisory role involves leading and nurturing our dedicated associates. You will be responsible for their comprehensive training and development, ensuring every team member is equipped to meet the evolving demands of the distribution centre. This includes managing all aspects of performance, staffing, and ongoing development of your assigned workforce, as well as coaching associates to achieve both organisational objectives and personal growth. Handling administrative duties for hourly associates, such as vacation requests and personal day management, will also fall under your purview. Operational excellence extends to managing overall department processes, including debriefing, transfers, and fleet management for our 5-ton trucks. Prior experience with inventory, cycle counting, RF picking, and WMS/ERP systems, particularly Oracle, is a definite asset that will enable you to excel in this fast-paced environment.
Beyond internal operations, this role demands a strong focus on both internal and external customers. You will provide essential customer service and support to our customers, sales teams, and delivery teams by efficiently responding to store e-mails and incoming telephone calls. Collaborating and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, including external vendors, clients, and internal teams, is crucial for seamless operations. Furthermore, a non-negotiable aspect of your leadership will be to ensure that all health and safety standards and regulations are rigorously adhered to throughout the distribution centre.
