Merchandising Execution Associates, or MEAs, play a crucial part in enhancing the overall customer experience by ensuring our merchandise is presented impeccably and strategically. This role directly contributes to driving sales and maximising inventory turns through meticulous execution of merchandising strategies within the store.
As a Merchandising Associate, your core responsibilities will encompass a wide range of in-store merchandising service activities. You will be instrumental in executing various merchandising projects, conducting planogram maintenance, and ensuring overhead organization, all designed to create an engaging shopping experience for every customer. MEAs are tasked with accurately interpreting directions to set merchandise according to specific planogram requirements and program service guidelines. This includes the essential duty to straighten, clean, and meticulously merchandise product, ensuring it is always visually appealing and accessible. You will regularly maintain copy of the most recent planogram and build displays or fixtures using basic hand tools. Furthermore, a key aspect of this role is to maintain, order, and install display material, signage, and brochures, alongside executing precise price and label changes. The ability to maintain aisle cleanliness so that merchandise is easily accessible for customers is paramount, reflecting our commitment to superior customer service. You will also utilise store systems to access vital merchandising reports, interpreting and executing actions based on your findings, and maintain bay service records as directed, completing one-off projects as required by store leadership.
Success in this Merchandising Associate role requires a blend of essential skills and a collaborative spirit. Basic computer proficiency with web-based applications is necessary, alongside strong interpersonal skills, as you will work closely in teams with on-site supervision. MEAs must build and maintain strong relationships with fellow store associates and provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. A keen attention to detail is crucial for catching errors and maintaining high-quality standards in all merchandising tasks. The role demands individuals who are action-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of driving execution without close supervision, even amidst a fast-paced environment with competing demands. Physical requirements for this position include bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items. The work typically starts early in the morning within a warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy, with frequently open doors causing temperature changes. Adherence to standard operating and safety procedures, including identifying and correcting safety hazards, is a fundamental requirement.
