Key Responsibilities and Required Experience
As a Bakery Utility Clerk, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of essential duties that contribute to the success and efficiency of the bakery department. This includes providing outstanding customer service and fostering positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, requests, and complaints. You will perform all aspects of the bakery utility function, including but not limited to panning and the operation of bake-off ovens, bakery platter preparation, and the precise icing of names and/or messages on cakes. Ensuring display presentation and stock levels are consistently maintained in an efficient and organized manner is also a core responsibility for our retail environment.
Furthermore, this role involves handling merchandise with care to ensure quality and minimize damages and markdowns. You will be responsible for providing substitutions and ensuring price integrity, including managing price changes. General clean-up duties, such as cleaning spills and display fixtures, are paramount to maintaining a neat and organized department. The position is also responsible for ensuring the sales floor and back stock area are clean of cardboard and debris, including the proper disposal of garbage. Adherence to established Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies is critical to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers. The proper care, use, and maintenance of equipment and tools, along with reporting repair requirements, are also key. Finally, the role is responsible for all aspects of ordering merchandise and supplies, as well as receiving processes, including reviewing/verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims, and proper storage of products.
