Meat Clerk - Sobeys, Ancaster

Your impact

As a Part-Time Meat Clerk at Sobeys in Ancaster, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service and high-quality meat products to our customers. This position is central to ensuring the meat department operates efficiently, maintaining food safety standards, and actively contributing to a positive shopping experience. You will make a direct impact on customer satisfaction and store sales by fulfilling customer needs and promoting featured products.

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives.
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products.
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements.
• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required.
• Process department shrink, as required.
• Participate in the training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a dynamic retail environment. The following attributes are required to effectively manage the responsibilities of a Meat Clerk:

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift up to 20lbs, stand for long periods of time, and complete physical work including but not limited to bending, lifting, and reaching.
