What you'll do

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily Bakery operations to ensure exceptional customer service, food safety compliance, product quality, and financial performance. Our bakery department teams touch the lives of our customers each and every day by providing daily essentials such as fresh bread or creating that perfect cake for a special occasion.

• Assist with staff supervision
• Manage inventory
• Handle merchandising
• Perform production planning
• Maintain operational standards while helping drive sales and profitability

What you'll bring

• Previous bakery retail experience
• Journeyman Baker Certificate Required
• Excellent customer service, communication and leadership skills
• Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation, policies and practices is an asset
• Post-secondary certification is an asset
• Classification as a registered apprentice or certified journeyman baker is an asset
• Available to work days, evenings, and weekends
• Previous bakery, food retail, or grocery management experience preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience considered an asset
• Strong understanding of food safety practices and sanitation standards
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
