Intertek is seeking a dedicated Materials Technician to join their team in Coquitlam, BC. This role is pivotal in providing effective and competent support to Intertek Testing Services NA Ltd., operating safely, legally, and ethically within the construction services division. A primary responsibility involves performing both laboratory and field materials testing on various substances, including concrete, soil, and aggregate materials, ensuring all work adheres to CCIL certification standards for concrete and aggregate. The technician will also conduct field and laboratory testing on materials for geotechnical projects for a diverse client base across the Greater Vancouver Area. This includes field materials sampling as required, working closely with the Engineering Manager, Laboratory Supervisor, and clients to deliver accurate data and quality assurance. Proficiency in various CSA and ASTM Materials Testing Standards and Procedures for concrete and aggregate materials testing will be developed and maintained. The role further involves assisting the Laboratory Supervisor in conducting and completing materials testing and certification, providing essential materials testing services and inspection both on-site and within the laboratory environment, and maintaining the work order and unit posting process. Skills and Qualifications
Candidates for this Materials Technician role should preferably hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or possess equivalent technical experience.
