As a Key Account Executive for the Public Sector Sovereign at Google Cloud in Ottawa, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating digital transformation for Canadian government entities. This critical sales position involves driving long-term revenue growth by deeply understanding our public sector customers' unique challenges and aligning them with Google Cloud's innovative portfolio of solutions. Your expertise will be essential in managing comprehensive account growth strategies, engaging customers through a consultative value selling methodology, and demonstrating the transformative power of Google's cloud technology. You will lead the entire sales process, from initiating crucial customer conversations to orchestrating internal and external teams to meet revenue commitments and increase cloud consumption. This role requires significant experience in building and nurturing relationships, advocating for cutting-edge technology, and helping organizations become more productive, collaborative, and mobile through Google Cloud's secure and scalable offerings. You will be instrumental in shaping how public sector businesses leverage technology to connect with their stakeholders and achieve their strategic objectives.
A core responsibility for this Key Account Executive position involves driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives, building trusted consultative relationships with public sector customers, and leveraging emerging technology trends. You will manage and meticulously track the sales pipeline from lead generation to closure, ensuring accurate forecasting and clear visibility into expected business outcomes. Negotiating complex, multi-year contracts and formulating persuasive proposals that clearly illustrate return on investment through detailed customer business cases and comprehensive deployment plans will be a regular part of your work. Mobilizing Google's internal experts and external partners at the opportune moment to drive consumption and deliver a seamless customer experience is also vital. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, alongside at least 10 years of experience in quota-carrying cloud or software sales, or consultative account management within a Business-to-Business (B2B) software company. Extensive experience working with the Canadian public sector market, including federal government and defence entities, is mandatory. The ability to engage with a wide range of internal teams and customer stakeholders, manage the full sales cycle, and handle commercial negotiations is crucial. An active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is a minimum requirement for this role at Google. Preferred qualifications include consultative selling experience to the public sector, proficiency in qualifying leads, presenting compelling value propositions against customers’ business opportunities, and showcasing current technology trends and Google Cloud differentiators. Fluency in both English and French is highly valued for regional support, enhancing your ability to serve a broader range of public sector customers across Canada.
