Reporting to a Senior Finance Partner, this role involves delivering comprehensive financial advice and strategic guidance to senior leaders, including deans and associate vice presidents. A core aspect of this position is acting as a financial expert in the strategic planning process for assigned areas. You will be instrumental in developing regular financial reporting and creating ad hoc reports to aid senior management in critical strategic decision-making, including the preparation of detailed variance analysis and forecasting to highlight key financial issues. The role also encompasses providing continuous support by recommending and developing improvements in financial processes and procedures, ensuring optimal operational efficiency. Maintaining productive relationships with colleagues in the Service Centre/Processing Hub and Finance Centres of Expertise is crucial for fostering consistent financial practices across the university. Your responsibilities further extend to providing cost estimates, including modelling, for new activities or changes to programs and services, alongside understanding contracts and grant agreements, including the preparation of financial reporting for external sponsors.
