This role delivers both strategic insight and essential technical expertise to Senior Finance Partners and Financial Analysts, ensuring robust alignment with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and leading practices in financial management. The Financial Business Solutions Analyst will provide critical guidance and hands-on support to Finance Partnership teams, fostering seamless and efficient financial operations across the institution. A primary focus involves ensuring that all financial systems and tools function reliably, securely, and efficiently to support crucial activities such as budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and informed decision-making. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, this analyst will drive system optimisation initiatives, support enhancements and upgrades, and strengthen internal controls, thereby advancing data integrity and transparency throughout the entire Finance Partnership Network. The goal is always to translate strategic business objectives into optimised processes, innovative automation solutions, and streamlined workflows that benefit the university community in Alberta.
A core aspect of this position involves the design, implementation, and ongoing management of sustainable continuous improvement initiatives, utilising both business and technical expertise to develop scalable and efficient future-state solutions aligned with organisational goals. The analyst will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining custom interfaces, data imports/exports, and system integrations, including vital platforms like PeopleSoft. Furthermore, the role requires the development of optimised queries to support accurate and timely financial reporting, alongside comprehensive testing strategies for new functionality and defect remediation initiatives. Enforcing data security protocols is paramount, ensuring the protection of sensitive financial information and strict compliance with university policies.
