What you'll do
As an Emergency Medical Technician with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, you will be on the front lines, providing essential pre-hospital medical care. Your primary responsibility will be to respond to a variety of emergency and non-emergency calls, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients. - Respond to emergency and non-emergency events.
- Provide assessment, treatment, and transportation of ill or injured persons.
- Operate consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and regulations.
- Adhere to Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols.
- Comply with The Paramedics Act and bylaws.
- Follow Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures, and work standards.

- Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Current CPR certification
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Interpersonal skills
- Listening skills
- Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis
- Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations
- Ability to be resilient
- Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity
- Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care
- Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System
- Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues
- Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively
- Ability to exhibit situational awareness
- Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
