Class 1A Truck Driver, New Annan, PE

About the Role

This is a long-term contract opportunity for a Class 1A Truck Driver to join Cavendish Agri's trucking division in New Annan, Prince Edward Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting potatoes to Cavendish Farms plants.

The position offers a rotational daytime schedule, working 4 days on and 4 days off, with shifts typically lasting 12-14 hours. The wage for this role is $23 per hour.

Benefits are available upon completion of 1000 hours of work, following a three-month probation period, with the contract renewed annually.

Key Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently haul potatoes from various storage locations to the Cavendish Farms plants.

Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, perform cleaning, and carry out mandatory maintenance, including basic troubleshooting of equipment.

Prioritise safety in all aspects of work, adhering to all company policies and regulations.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork and documentation.

Represent the company in a professional, positive, and pleasant manner at all times.

What You'll Bring

A valid Class 1A driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract are essential for this position.

Availability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, is required to accommodate the rotational shift schedule.

Previous experience in bulk hauling will be considered a valuable asset. Experience operating a live-bottom trailer is also an asset for this role.

Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
