Midland Transport Limited is seeking professional Class 1 Linehaul Truck Drivers to join their team. This opportunity involves running linehaul routes from the Maritimes into the United States eastern seaboard, then into Ontario and Quebec, and finally returning to the Maritimes. Drivers can be based out of any major city in the Maritimes, including Fredericton, Moncton, Halifax, Saint John, Charlottetown, Truro, and Summerside. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing superior quality service while navigating cross-border routes into the United States, including New York and New Jersey. The Class 1 Linehaul Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering freight to assigned locations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. This role involves the proper and safe handling of freight equipment and offloading variable shipment weights to prevent damage. Drivers must communicate efficiently with central dispatch and customers. Operating the tractor trailer in accordance with all safety regulations, company rules, safety procedures, and traffic laws is paramount. Daily duties also include performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the truck's operation, and reporting any incidents, accidents, injuries, or damages in a timely manner.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED. A Class 1 driver’s licence is required, along with a minimum of four years of safe tractor trailer driving experience in North America. A clean driver’s abstract and criminal search are essential. Eligibility to receive a FAST card and the ability to cross the border into the United States are also mandatory requirements. Familiarity with satellite systems is expected. The role demands excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be safety conscious and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs using the proper equipment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, is also necessary.
