As a City Dispatcher in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, you will be responsible for meticulously manifesting drivers and dispatching freight loads, consistently meeting and exceeding operational metrics. Your expertise will be crucial in determining the most efficient delivery schedules, considering factors such as driver availability, load size, and trip length. This role involves coordinating daily dispatch operations, including preparing driver manifests and scheduling both deliveries and pickups. You will monitor routes in real time, communicate effectively with drivers, and swiftly resolve any service or scheduling issues that arise. Additionally, you will support safety programmes through meetings, compliance monitoring, and incident follow-ups, and review performance data and reports to identify trends and continuously improve operations. This position operates within an office environment.
Candidates should possess a Trade Certification or a College Diploma. We require 2 to 5 years of experience in a dispatch role. Successful applicants will demonstrate outstanding organisational and multitasking abilities, alongside strong active listening and excellent communication skills.
