As an Assistant Manager at Mark's in Bridgewater, NS, you will play a pivotal role in shaping an outstanding retail experience for every customer. You will coach and mentor colleagues, following up regularly to ensure that our omni-channel approach provides seamless interactions, whether through in-store eCommerce sales or efficient fulfillment of online orders. This role also involves leading the B2B Mark’s Commercial Business function, managing order entry and ensuring accurate and timely delivery to our valued commercial customer base. A core responsibility of this Assistant Manager position involves meticulous oversight of store operations. You will be instrumental in implementing, communicating, and following up to ensure strict compliance with all operating procedures, processes, and corporate policies. This includes managing daily scheduling and execution across critical areas such as shipping, receiving, eCommerce fulfillment operations, and cash management. Furthermore, you will assist in the preparation and execution of annual inventories, a crucial aspect of maintaining accurate stock levels. It is imperative that you consistently uphold all corporate Loss Prevention (LP), cash and audit, and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will assume full responsibility for all operations, demonstrating your capability to manage the entire store effectively and ensure its smooth functioning.
Beyond operations and customer service, a key aspect of this role is fostering a positive and motivating work environment. You will provide ongoing leadership to the team, consistently coaching and following up to ensure high standards are met and training requirements are completed within specified timeframes. This includes leading effective Shift Starter meetings and coaching sessions, communicating daily game plans for operational activities clearly and concisely. You will also maintain Mark's performance management expectations, following disciplinary processes consistently and impartially when necessary. As a brand ambassador, you will promote Mark's unique culture, motivating team performance through recognition programs, store contests, and celebrating customer compliments, thereby ensuring a safe, inclusive, and empowering experience for all employees.
