The Opportunity
The City of Ottawa is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the role of Theatre Facilities Specialist. This permanent part-time position, offering up to 24 hours per week, is a vital part of the Recreation, Culture and Facilities Department. Responsibilities
As a Theatre Facilities Specialist, your core responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that all theatre policies are applied and procedures are respected.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and facility maintenance.
- Fostering excellent relations with clients and patrons.
- Accurately accounting for revenue and inventory from the bar, cloakroom, and souvenir sales.
- Preparing cash deposits diligently.
- Supervising, training, and guiding front-of-house staff.
- Providing emergency care, such as first aid or CPR, when necessary.
Skills and Experience
To excel in this role within the City of Ottawa, candidates should possess a blend of education, experience, and specific certifications.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma (Grade 12).
- At least one year of supervisory experience in a public-facing environment.
- Hospitality experience, preferably dans un théâtre, an entertainment venue, or a similar setting.
Licences and Accreditations:
- A valid General First Aid, CPR, or AED certificate.
- AODA Customer Service/NAI training.
- A Smart Serve certificate from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
