About the Role

The Staff Pharmacist supports the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing patient care tailored to individual needs, informed by consultations and file reviews. You will contribute to achieving corporate business goals by assisting in the execution of the business action plan.

Responsibilities

You will ensure an excellent patient experience and assist customers with locating merchandise on the sales floor. Key responsibilities include establishing strong working relationships with the Professional Services District Manager and other stakeholders, as well as accepting prescriptions and refill requests from customers, doctors, or hospitals.

You are responsible for accurately, efficiently, and safely filling all prescriptions using established workflow models, and counselling patients on pharmaceutical products. This includes ensuring proper storage of products and executing processes according to Walmart's best practices and Standard Operating Procedures.

You must be able to operate all pharmacy equipment, including the register and computer systems. Maintaining patient privacy at all times and adhering to provincial regulatory body regulations is paramount. You will also ensure patients receive all eligible services, such as medication reviews and injections, to meet their specific needs, and ensure the pharmacy remains open and operational during posted business hours.

Requirements

Candidates must be 16 years of age or older. A valid Pharmacist Licence is required. For those in Alberta, an additional prescribing authorization (CA_APA) is an optional permit.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $41.60 to $55.90 per hour. The rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
