As a Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Java-based applications utilizing Spring and modern microservices architectures. You will be tasked with building and maintaining RESTful APIs, databases, and server-side services, always with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and security. A crucial aspect of this role involves applying engineering best practices, including clean code principles, thorough peer reviews, automated testing, robust CI/CD pipelines, and effective version control. You will conduct technical investigations to mitigate delivery risk and validate design decisions, ensuring the integrity of the system. Furthermore, you will troubleshoot issues, resolve defects promptly, and continuously work to improve application performance and efficiency. Contributing to comprehensive documentation related to design, deployment, maintenance, and operational support is also expected. Required qualifications for this role include strong experience building applications with Java and Spring, hands-on experience with SQL databases and microservices-based architectures, and practical experience developing applications in the cloud on Azure or another major public cloud platform. Familiarity with API development, CI/CD practices, and secure coding principles is essential, as is experience working collaboratively in agile, cross-functional teams. Preferred qualifications include experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies and exposure to DevOps or DevSecOps practices and tooling.
