Role Overview

The City of Ottawa is seeking a dedicated Représentant du service à la clientèle I to join its Leisure, Culture, and Facilities General Directorate. This vital part-time position, offering up to 24 hours per week with variable shifts, plays a key role in ensuring residents and visitors have access to high-quality recreational and cultural programs and services across various locations in Ottawa. As part of the Community Leisure, Culture, and Sports Services, you will contribute to making the ville healthy, inclusive, and vibrant, enhancing the overall experience in City installations.

This role is central to supporting assigned leisure or artistic centres, specifically for programs such as day camps and swimming lessons. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing excellent service à la clientèle, managing program registrations, and offering general administrative support, ensuring that every interaction reflects the City's commitment to its community.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this Customer Service Representative I position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Tenue de caisse (cash handling)
  • Service à la clientèle (customer service)

Who We're Looking For

Education and Experience:

  • Avoir terminé au moins une 10e année (completed at least Grade 10)
  • Expérience de travail de moins de 3 mois auprès du public (less than 3 months of work experience with the public)

Permits and Accreditations:

  • Certificat en règle de secourisme général (valid General First Aid certificate)
  • Certificat en règle de RCR à deux secouristes (valid Two-Rescuer CPR certificate)
  • Certificat en règle d’opérateur de DEA (valid AED Operator certificate)
  • Service à la clientèle LAPHO/formation NAI (AODA Customer Service/NAI training)

Knowledge:

  • Connaissance pratique des ordinateurs, des applications logicielles et capacité de comprendre l’application logicielle de réservation et d’inscription de la Ville (working knowledge of computers, software applications, and ability to understand the City's booking and registration software application)
  • Connaissance des procédures de gestion administrative et de bureau (knowledge of administrative and office management procedures)
  • Aptitudes en traitement de texte (word processing skills)
  • Acquiert une connaissance pratique des installations et programmes du Service afin d’être en mesure de bien référer la clientèle aux autres installations, au besoin (acquires working knowledge of the Service's facilities and programs to effectively refer clients to other facilities, if necessary)
  • Une connaissance des logiciels de la Ville serait un atout (knowledge of City software would be an asset)
