Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for priming, cleaning, and disinfecting hemodialysis machines. This role involves setting up supplies, bedside charts, and treatment records for patient stations to facilitate dialysis treatment. Other duties include transporting patients to and from the Hemodialysis Unit from the Rehabilitation or Front Entrance of the Hospital via wheelchair. The Renal Assistant will also porter patient prescription and physician order forms, as well as medications, between the unit and the Hospital Pharmacentre.

What You'll Bring

Candidates must possess a Grade 12 education or an equivalent qualification. The ability to read, write, and speak English is required. Applicants must be physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in hemodialysis as a renal assistant is considered an asset. A positive work and attendance record is essential for this position.

Position Details

This is a temporary full-time position, with an approximate duration of 6 to 12 months. The role is based at various renal sites in Mississauga, Ontario, including CVH Renal Dialysis, CH Hemo, Renal Care Centre (Watline Ave), and South Mississauga Dialysis Centre (Speakman Drive). The hourly wage for this CUPEC02 level position ranges from $26.169 to $30.121. Shifts operate Monday through Sunday, with hours typically from 0530-1330 or 1030-1830.
