This temporary full-time Operations Engineer position with the City of Saskatoon offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the city's vital services. The successful candidate will assist in leading a diverse team of staff dedicated to the operation and maintenance of the City’s municipal infrastructure. This involves supervising, training, and directing technical and non-technical staff, monitoring their performance, and fostering their professional development. The Operations Engineer prepares regular and comprehensive progress and financial status reports, contributing to transparent and accountable project management. A critical responsibility involves planning, directing, and administering the collection and analysis of data related to the condition and capacity of infrastructure systems, enabling informed decision-making. The role requires the ability to conduct analysis of operating problems and develop effective solutions, often with minimal supervision. Performance outputs are continuously reviewed, monitored, and assessed to meet documented level of service standards, operational procedures, and occupational health and safety procedures, reinforcing the commitment to safety. The successful candidate will possess considerable knowledge of corporate safety policy, collective agreements, and provincial occupational health and safety regulations.
