The Ville d'Ottawa is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Specialized Aquatic Gymnastics Instructor to join its Recreation, Culture, and Facilities Directorate. What You'll Do

As a Specialized Aquatic Gymnastics Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching engaging and safe aquatic gymnastics programs. Your primary goal is to ensure participants enjoy a positive experience while adhering to recognized accreditation body guidelines, as well as the policies, procedures, and standards set by the Ville d'Ottawa and its direction générale. This involves:

• Teaching specialized aquatic gymnastics programs to participants in a safe and enjoyable manner.
• Ensuring compliance with accreditation body guidelines.
• Adhering to all Ville d'Ottawa and directorate policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards for des programmes aquatiques.

Education and Experience

• Completion of Grade 11.
• Valid certifications from a recognized accreditation body (or equivalent, at the discretion of the direction).
• At least six months of experience, or equivalent in an apprentice position.

Permits and Accreditations

• Specialist Aquafit Instructor Certification (CALA, YM-YWCA, WaterART, or other recognized certification).
• Valid General First Aid, CPR, or AED Certificate.
• AODA Accessibility/NAI Training.
• Current National Lifeguard – Pool Certificate (desirable).
• Current Oxygen Therapy or Airway Management/BLS Certificate (desirable).

Knowledge

• Ville d'Ottawa and Directorate policies, guidelines, and directives.
• Emergency response procedures for the Ville d'Ottawa.
• Relevant health and safety legislation, including workers' rights and obligations.
• Knowledge of specialty areas, including demographic needs, goals, and objectives, and how to safely design and lead specialized fitness programs.
