The Ville d'Ottawa is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Specialized Aquatic Gymnastics Instructor to join its Recreation, Culture, and Facilities Directorate. What You'll Do
As a Specialized Aquatic Gymnastics Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching engaging and safe aquatic gymnastics programs. Your primary goal is to ensure participants enjoy a positive experience while adhering to recognized accreditation body guidelines, as well as the policies, procedures, and standards set by the Ville d'Ottawa and its direction générale. - Teaching specialized aquatic gymnastics programs to participants in a safe and enjoyable manner.
- Ensuring compliance with accreditation body guidelines.

Education and Experience
- Completion of Grade 11.
- Valid certifications from a recognized accreditation body (or equivalent, at the discretion of the direction).
- At least six months of experience, or equivalent in an apprentice position.
Permits and Accreditations
- Specialist Aquafit Instructor Certification (CALA, YM-YWCA, WaterART, or other recognized certification).
- Valid General First Aid, CPR, or AED Certificate.
- AODA Accessibility/NAI Training.
- Current National Lifeguard – Pool Certificate (desirable).
- Current Oxygen Therapy or Airway Management/BLS Certificate (desirable).
Knowledge
- Ville d'Ottawa and Directorate policies, guidelines, and directives.
- Emergency response procedures for the Ville d'Ottawa.
- Relevant health and safety legislation, including workers' rights and obligations.
- Knowledge of specialty areas, including demographic needs, goals, and objectives, and how to safely design and lead specialized fitness programs.

- Ability to manage stress in emergency situations.
