Your Impact and Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, your impact will be seen in the detailed design and 3D modelling of various critical electrical systems. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive models for electrical power distribution, circuiting, conduit and duct bank routing, bonding and grounding, lightning protection, emergency power systems, UPS, generators, and fire alarm systems. Furthermore, you will carry out essential design and 3D modelling for interior, exterior, landscape, façade, and art lighting, including fixture selection and lighting controls. Preparing system and equipment installation details for project submission packages will also be a key duty. Whether working independently or collaboratively, you will develop drawings that consistently meet stringent project standards and deadlines, ensuring high-quality project delivery. You will also provide valuable support to electrical engineers and senior designers with system concepts, calculations, and technical design input, while diligently applying and upholding WSP’s BIM standards, policies, and procedures. Coordination with WSP’s offshore design teams for integrated delivery is an integral part of this role, contributing to continuous improvement by staying current with BIM, ACC, automation trends, and digital delivery technologies.

Skills and Expertise Required

To excel in this Electrical BIM Revit Modeler position, candidates should possess a robust skill set developed over at least five years of experience in Electrical and/or Lighting design, CAD, BIM 3D Revit Modeling, and the effective use of ACC (Autodesk Collaboration Cloud). A strong working knowledge of electrical power distribution, circuiting, conduit/duct bank sizing, equipment selection, fire alarm and suppression systems, and emergency power distribution is essential. Hands-on understanding of various lighting systems, including fixture selection, lighting controls, and emergency egress lighting, will set you apart. Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, along with BIM add-ins, is required. Familiarity with Dynamo scripting and Civil 3D is considered a valuable asset, as is experience with National or Regional BIM standards and digital design automation. Prior onsite or contracting experience is also viewed as an advantage. Furthermore, experience with Bentley MicroStation and familiarity with TTC Standards are considered beneficial.
